What Do I Need to Rent a Unit?
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- First month's rent payment (cash, check, money order,
or Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit/debit cards)
- A lock for the unit (see the Locks section)
- Check with your insurance provider about coverage for "temporary storage"
Payment Terms
- Rent payment is due on the monthly anniversary of your contract date (for
example, if you rent your unit on August 5th, your next rent payment is due on
September 5th)
- Payment can be made by cash, check, money order, or
Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit/debit cards
- Payment can be made at our
Automatic Rental Center, dropped in the drop slot in our office, or mailed to our
office (please note your unit number on the check memo line or envelope). We
accept credit/debit card payments by phone. We can also automatically bill
your credit/debit card...contact our office for information.
Locks
- We recommend using a disc padlock or similar lock with a protected shackle
- We offer a variety of disc padlock models at
competitive prices
- Clay Street Storage will not retain keys to customer locks
- We will remove (cut) locks at the request of the contract holder for the
unit. There is a fee for this service.
Insurance
- Insurance of the contents of the storage unit is the
tenant's responsibility.
- At contract signing, tenants will be asked to
indicate whether: a) the contents of the unit are covered by an existing
insurance policy, or b) the tenant elects to "self insure" the contents of the
unit. "Self insurance" indicates that the tenant bears all financial
responsibility for loss or damage to unit contents.
- Check with your existing homeowner's or renter's
insurance carrier to determine if your items are covered while in "temporary
storage" or if a rider can be added to your policy.
- Self Storage Contents Insurance is available from
TenantOne - 800-544-6464 or
